Byiringiro Alexis admits that he struggles seeing the purpose of continuing his education and asks his mother why he has faced such difficulties in his life. His mother explains to him the impact of the loss of his father on their situation and how she tried her hardest to keep him healthy and in school while instilling faith that one day Byiringiro Alexis will be able to complete school and live the kind of life he wants.
"The strength I have in these difficult times is avoiding things that hurt me and reminders of my past. I try to live well with all people peacefully...The strength is seeking others and harnessing all your abilities, be it with your hands or understanding the abilities of others. Don’t close yourself out and try to be independent. That's my source of strength." Nyirasamaza Anunciata
"My mother has shown me her strength and bravery that will help her to develop in the future. Her lesson to me is that I have to free myself (from my past) and live well with others. I should not be depressed despite my problems. I also need to use all the knowledge and arms that God gave me and in my life I should also help others in every way I can." Byiringiro Alexis
