Two sisters orphaned by genocide, Murekatete Justine and Tuyiseuge Claudette, discuss how they can recover from the trauma they endured. Tuyiseuge Claudette tells her sister of the trouble she has remaining motivated to stay in school and continue working for her future. Murekatete Justine responds with her own inspirational story about raising two children and her sister singlehandedly. Their common experience with genocidal loss and difficult times helps them not only to bond over what causes their anguish, but also to find effective solutions to these difficulties like prayer, ambition, and hope.
"I heard genocide was embarked on mostly Tutsis. How can you help me wipe this poor ideology from my mind? And in my friends, too? How can this ideology of end in our country?" Tuyiseuge Claudette
"I told you to get strong and learn how to pray, for there is strength in it. I know it's difficult when you think of the blood that was shed… you should avoid anything that can draw you back to those memories again. Love God, and pray hard! Make friends, and learn how to interact with them!" Murekatete Justine
